Thank you for visiting Okawarishitenecooking.com.

I am so happy that you found your way here to Okawarishitenecooking.com!

What does “Okawari Shitene” mean?

Okawari shitene means “please ask some more if you like” in Japanese, just like that mother says to her kids, family or friends.

If someone finds your food tasty and asks some more, it is the reward for the cook.

About me

my kitchen

My name is Fumie and I am the writer, cook, photographer of this blog.

I am Japanese and live in the Netherlands. I am married to a Dutch man and we have two children.  Daily I cook not only Japanese, but also all other countries dishes, such as French, Italian, Dutch, Chinese, Korean etc. etc.  Also I am crazy about baking.

Last past years I have cooked Japanese food by using ingredients sold at usual supermarkets or Asian supermarkets in the Netherlands. Thus I don’t use any special ingredients for Japanese dishes and try to use local products as much as possible.  Now I realize I can create quite tasty Japanese food with local ingredients.

I’d like to invite you to my small kitchen and share my culinary experience with you.

You will find all variety food recipes and useful information in this blog.

Please visit my Instagram account to get an idea.

I hope you find some recipes which you can adjust to your own taste and cook repeatedly from this blog.

Bon appetit!
